Arizona’s Secretary of State Katie Hobbs has announced her candidacy for governor. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the Democrat said she is running to deliver transparency and accountability to Arizonians.
I’m running for Governor to deliver transparency, accountability, and results for Arizonans — just like I’ve done my whole career.

However, Hobbs has been a constant critic of the ongoing 2020 election audit in Maricopa County and appears to be using the same recycled Democrat talking points to try to gain traction. The Democrat will face an uphill battle as the race includes a growing list of candidates such as former news anchor Kari Lake who is running on the GOP ticket.
“Arizonans need leaders they can trust. We need leaders with integrity and a vision,” Lake explained. “Our politicians have failed us. The time has come to put Arizona first.”
Arizona has not had a Democratic governor since 2009. The candidates will go head-to-head in November of next year to replace Gov. Doug Ducey (R) who is not able to run again due to term limits.
