A prominent Israel-based author called The New York Times the godfather of fake news.
During an interview with Breitbart on Monday, Ashley Rindsberg said the newspaper has deliberately and radically altered history. He added the publication is guilty of everything it claims to hate, and that type of reporting is dangerous.
Rindsberg cited a debunked article from last summer, in which The New York Times claimed Russia was paying Islamist groups in Afghanistan bounties for the killing of American troops.
“But another layer to the story was the claim that Trump knew about these bounties and did nothing about it. That claim took the story from alarming to explosive. I remember thinking to myself, if this is true, this guy, meaning Trump, must be as bad as they say he is,” Rindsberg explained. “And hearing this report and accepting it as true, you really couldn’t come to any other conclusion.”
In his new book, which has garnered praise across the political spectrum, Rindsberg outlined more than a century of false narratives created by The New York Times.
He went on to say the publication needs to be held accountable for inaccurate reporting.
