Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) blamed leaders in both parties for not doing enough to fight censorship. Speaking at CPAC on Friday, Gaetz pointed out the hypocrisy he has seen among lawmakers.

He noted politicians in the U.S. have no problem flooding Middle Eastern countries with American cash and blood in the fight for democracy. However, he added they won’t lift a finger here at home to ensure everyone has access to the digital world, which he claimed helps preserve our republic.

He also spoke out against ongoing lockdowns nationwide.

“How about freedom for young and healthy people,” Gaetz said. “How about we ditch the lockdown governors, Cuomo, Newsom and Murphy, and never ditch the American way of life and the American spirit.”

Gaetz has praised Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) for his efforts to reopen his state and get the economy back up and running amid the pandemic.
