First Lady Melania Trump commissioned a new installment for the White House Rose Garden.

On Friday, the White House released a statement announcing that Isamu Noguchi’s ‘Floor Frame’ sculpture will be added to the east terrace.

Noguchi’s Floor Frame will be the first Asian American art piece to be represented in the newly restored Rose Garden. The sculpture is meant to represent the intersection of a tree with the ground, which signifies a root system and the canopy of a tree.

The modestly sized artwork is intended to be placed on the ground and Noguchi said it compliments the authority of the Oval Office.
