New York’s governor came under fire after berating journalists who simply asked about lockdown plans in the Big Apple.
In a press conference Wednesday, a reporter asked Gov. Cuomo (D-N.Y.) whether New York City will close its schools this week. The reporter also questioned whether the governor could override Mayor Bill de Blasio’s decision, if so.
This came as parents across the city expressed concern over the closures, calling on the governor to leave schools open. However, Cuomo took offense to the question as well as the reporter’s tone, accusing him of being “obnoxious and offensive.”
“What are you talking about?” Cuomo asked. “Read the law and you won’t get confused.”

After the exchange, both reporters and members of the public began flooding Twitter to question Cuomo’s harsh response to an issue that is on most New Yorkers’ minds.

After Cuomo’s press conference, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced schools will close again, which prompted outrage and protests on the streets. Crowds of parents gathered outside the city hall to express their anger over the move.
