A passenger jet crashed in Pakistan reportedly killing everyone on board. According to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), there were 99 passengers and eight crew members onboard when the plane crashed in a crowded residential part of Karachi on Friday.
PIA said the pilot radioed in about issues with the engine just before the crash and it appears the plane was unable to drop the wheels before landing.
The city’s mayor said at least five homes were also destroyed in the crash. The Pakistan Army is using helicopters to assess damage and emergency response teams are on the scene.

“We heard a big noise as something dropped from the sky. It wasn’t like a noise like normally when a plane crashes. The noise felt like an earthquake, we felt like maybe a wall or a water tank collapsed, but when we came to the rooftop we saw smoke everywhere.”

Meanwhile, officials have not released a death or injury toll for people on the ground. More information will become available as the situation develops.
