President Donald Trump declared that the opening night of the first-ever Republican Midterm Convention was a success.
Hosted in Dallas by the Republican National Committee (RNC), the two-day event–Wednesday to Thursday–features an extensive speaker lineup, including Cabinet members, politicians and even UFC Champions Bo Nickal and Justin Gaethje.
Trump headlined the convention on Wednesday night, delivering a fiery keynote address aimed at boosting GOP turnout for the critical midterm elections.
“The Republican Midterm Convention last night, in Dallas, was a major, sold out hit, far bigger, better, and more important than anyone thought possible,” the president posted to Truth Social on Thursday.
“It was really something, streaming all over the place, and really big numbers, despite going up against the NFL. The overall numbers beat the NFL,” he added.

The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks kicked off the NFL 2026 season with a matchup on Wednesday, though viewership numbers have not yet been published for the game.
The first-of-its-kind GOP event for a midterm drew in large crowds to watch the wide array of speakers. It was hosted at the American Airlines Center–home to the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars–which serves as a concert venue that has featured major music artists.
“The Arena, which was really nice, beat its own attendance records. The place was packed! There were thousands of people outside who couldn’t get in. Screens were provided. I guess people LOVE TRUMP POLITICS!” he said.
“I’ll be there again tonight to close out the show. Exciting ‘Stuff!’ MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” he concluded.
Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to headline the second night of the convention on Thursday evening, with Trump set to close it out.
