Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has announced the formation of a new, bipartisan Election Integrity Task Force aimed at evaluating voting procedures, safeguarding election operations and bolstering public confidence ahead of the upcoming November midterm elections.
Designed as an ongoing advisory panel, the coalition brings together a broad spectrum of prominent state leaders, election administrators, legal scholars and law enforcement officials from across the political aisle.
“Georgia has the most secure elections in America and we intend to keep it that way,” said Raffensperger. “This bipartisan group brings together leaders with different backgrounds and perspectives who share a commitment to protecting every lawful vote and strengthening public confidence in our elections.”
The advisory group features figures from both major political parties, including former Democrat Governor Roy Barnes, former Atlanta Democrat Mayor Shirley Franklin, former Republican U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss, and former Republican U.S. Representative Drew Ferguson.
The panel also incorporates technical and legal expertise from election law expert Ben Ginsberg, alongside local administrative leaders like Bartow County Elections Supervisor Joseph Kirk, Muscogee County Elections Director Nancy Boren and Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Executive Director Terry Norris.
According to the Secretary of State’s Office, the task force will systematically examine several critical areas of election administration. Key priorities include evaluating voter list maintenance, auditing county-level compliance and performance, combating election-related misinformation and developing new transparency initiatives.
While Georgia has enacted sweeping voting legislation in recent years, state officials emphasized that bringing diverse perspectives together will help address real-time operational challenges and ensure equal protection for every lawful vote.
Raffensperger highlighted that the initiative will “operate under an open-door policy,” providing his office with continuous, direct feedback from leaders on the ground throughout the election cycle.
Over the coming months, task force members will meet regularly to review security protocols, assess emerging administrative concerns and help bridge communication between state authorities and local communities to maintain standard-setting integrity at the polls.
“This group here, they’re well-respected members of the community,” Raffensperger continued. “They’re on both sides of the aisle, but they are also recognized as being fair brokers of the truth. They’re not just saying things because they got orders from their party bosses.”
