Los Angeles City Council member Nithya Raman is projected to face incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in November’s runoff election, a result that all but closes the door on former reality TV star Spencer Pratt’s mayoral campaign.
According to the Associated Press, as of this recording and with 93% of votes counted, Raman had received 229,576 votes (28.6%) compared to Pratt’s 207,757 votes (25.8%).
The margin, with relatively few ballots left to count, was large enough that the AP projected Raman would advance to the November runoff against Bass.
Bass led the field with 275,992 votes, or 34.3%.
