Freedom 250 unveils performance lineup for the Great American State Fair ahead of Semiquincentennial – One America News Network

Freedom 250 announced the lineup of entertainers slated to perform at the Great American State Fair to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence.

On Tuesday, several musicians and more than a dozen military demonstrations were unveiled for the celebration.

The Great American State Fair will be held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., spanning from the U.S. Capitol to the Washington Monument, from June 25th through July 10th.

“The celebration will unite and showcase all 56 U.S. states and territories in a single World’s Fair-scale event. This is an opportunity for visitors from across America to experience an unforgettable celebration of the people and traditions that define our nation. Our nation unites diverse states and territories to form the strongest country in the world,” the organization said.

 

The fair will also feature a 110-foot Ferris wheel, a newly refurbished Smithsonian National Carousel and hands-on activities for families to enjoy.

The musical and military performances announced thus far are as follows:

Music Artists

 

Country music singer-songwriter Martina McBride is set to perform on Thursday, June 25th, the fair’s opening day. The launch day will celebrate American architecture, infrastructure and culture.

On Friday, June 26th, which enshrines the American landscape and honors ranching and agriculture, C+C Music Factory, Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli and Young MC will perform.

The bands The Commodores and Morris Day and The Time are scheduled for Saturday, June 27th. Themed after “the American Canvas,” Saturday will honor American writers, musicians, filmmakers, designers and visual artists.

 

Rapper and singer Flo Rida is anticipated to perform at the “Horsepower of America” themed celebration on Thursday, July 2nd, showcasing “America’s love of power, speed and craftsmanship” from iron horses to modern machines.

Friday, July 3rd, rock musician Bret Michaels will perform during the “Wings of Freedom” themed day.

All 56 states and territories were invited to bring their own exhibitions and activities to the fair. General admission is free, according to organizers, though tickets are first-come, first-served and must be registered online.
