President Donald Trump is set to hold a rare Cabinet meeting at Camp David hours after the United States carried out strikes on Iran, raising concerns about the future of an emerging peace deal.

On Tuesday, the New York Post reported that every member of Trump’s cabinet will attend the meeting on Wednesday, including Director of Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who announced her resignation last week.

Topics of discussion include “recent successes of the administration, including economy and small business wins, Task Force to Eliminate Fraud highlights, and foreign policy updates,” a White House official told the outlet.

President Trump has only been to the Maryland military base, located 60 miles north of Washington, D.C., 16 times during his two terms as president. This would mark his 12th Cabinet meeting since he retook office in 2025.

The U.S. struck targets in southern Iran late on Monday, which U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM)’s spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins characterized as “self-defense” in order to “protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces.”

“U.S. Central Command continues to defend our forces while using restraint during the ongoing ceasefire,” Hawkins stated, noting that the command’s targets were Iranian missile launchers and boats that were attempting to lay mines.

Over the weekend, Trump had a conference call with leaders from several of Iran’s neighbors in the Middle East. He posted to his Truth Social platform after the call that “an agreement has largely been negotiated” with Iran.

He also affirmed that the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway that became the Iranian regime’s main playing card in negotiations with the U.S., would remain open to traffic to continue supplying oil and gas to the rest of the world.

Meanwhile, Iranian Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei went on a tirade of anti-American rhetoric in several X posts early on Tuesday, threatening American military bases and praising the “#weapon_of_AllahuAkbar” — a reference to the weaponization of the Arabic phrase meaning “God is the greatest.”

“It was with the [weapon of AllahuAkbar] that the Muslim nation of Iran severed the grasping hands of the greedy and arrogant United States from the country and completely eradicated Zionist influence,” the supreme leader wrote. He added that this weapon “enabled the Islamic Republic of Iran to deal the American aggressor a hard slap and to thwart the enemy’s objective of subjugating Iran.”

He added that the “weapon” also secured Islamic Iran’s Armed Forces’ decisive victories in the Third Imposed War against the two terrorist, armed to the teeth American-Zionist armies.”

“With this [weapon of AllahuAkbar], Iran’s Armed Forces, mujahideen of Resistance Front & #Lebanon put their trust in the Lord, utilized their missiles & drones across land, air & sea, & performed the rami [stoning] of Great Satan, the U.S., & its trained beast, the Zionist regime,” he continued.

The religious leader asserted that the Gulf countries would no longer “serve as shields for U.S. bases.”

“The United States will no longer have a safe haven for its mischief and for establishing military bases in West Asia,” he wrote.

“’Down with America’ and ‘Down with Israel’ shall become the common chants of the Islamic Ummah [community] and the world’s oppressed, especially among the youth,” he said.
