President Donald Trump reiterated his support for Representative Barry Moore’s U.S. Senate candidacy Monday night during a tele-rally ahead of Tuesday’s primary. The last-minute pitch came as three Republicans remained neck and neck in the battle for Senator Tommy Tuberville’s open seat, which became vacant after he launched his campaign for Alabama governor.

Moore (R-Ala.) is navigating a crowded U.S. Senate primary field, where Alabama Attorney Steve Marshall and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson are also leading contenders, according to the contenders polls.

“He’s a true America First Patriot who’s been with me from the very beginning. As your next senator, Barry will continue to fight tirelessly to grow our economy, promote made in the USA, something that’s so beautiful, and champion American energy dominance, keep our border secure, stop migrant crime, ensure law and order, protect our veterans, safeguard our elections, and defend our always under siege Second Amendment,” said Trump in a five-minute message that focused on Moore’s 2015 endorsement of him and Moore’s support of the president’s agenda while he was in Congress.

“I love you, and I think you love me based on the results we had – six, including primary, six wins, and no losses. We’re never going to have a loss in Alabama,” he added, referring to past election cycles in the state.

Moore’s campaign had praised Trump’s endorsement in many ads since his January announcement. Despite the high-profile backing, a runoff looks likely in the state’s marquee race this year. The final outcome will be a key test of the president’s endorsement in the deep-red state during his second term.

Moore praised Trump on the tele-rally, calling him his “favorite president” and “one of the greatest of our lifetime” in his short remarks.

“Our campaign is finishing strong, and there’s no better way to close than how it all began: standing with President Trump,” said Moore.
