A biotech company in China has claimed its new coronavirus vaccine is effective in treating multiple strains of the virus. Sinovac Biotech revealed the development on Friday.

Officials stated the vaccine they’re developing can neutralize the virus in differing strains from around the world. The company has sworn to share its findings and vaccine with the countries that China deems “in need” once the serum comes off the assembly line.

China has been working to curb the virus’s presence within the country.

“As you know, since April, we have had infected cases from abroad. They showed symptoms in China, but were infected in different places all over the world, not in China. We obtained over 20 different virus strains from them, including those from the United States, Europe, and different Middle East countries. Then we used the immune serum of our vaccine to neutralize these virus strains.” – Yin Weidong, CEO of Sinovac Biotech

The company has said they will be able to manufacture 300 million doses of the vaccine annually and have already come to an agreement to supply Indonesia.
